January Challenge project by Marie Johansson

Hello MMA followers! I´m here from the today snowy and cold northern Sweden to inspire you today. I created a card in cold colors with this moths wintery moodboard in mind.

"Coolness" Jan 15 -- Feb 14

I used papers from AB Studio to form the base & layers of my card. Glimmer Mists in a silver shade splattered over the card looks like ice and the stars got a coat with the same color so shiver.

White flowers and frosty berries give the right cold effect.

The November 15 - December 14 Challenge board "Poetry"

I created my page using different mists from Tattered Angels. Layering them with a brush & water and drying in between. A used a script stamp & dark orange stamping in between the layers.

Marie here today sharing my inspiration piece for the October Challenge "Alchemy". I love the dreamy moodboard this month. It got me thinking of the movies "Pirates of the Caribbean" but also a song titel from Iron Maiden. I decided to name my project after that song.

September Inspiration by Marie Johansson

Hi Crafty Souls!

Marie here today with my inspiration piece for the September Moodboard. I was inspiered by the books & the fantastic colors in this moodboard and decided to create a bookmark. For me fall is equal to reading - one of my favorite things is to sit on the front poach under a blanket, with a book and a good cup of coffee in my hands.

I tried to capture the mix of golden, bronze and browns when creating the bookmark. The black chalkstock bookmark from Canvas Corp was perfect as base. I added texture with a AB Studio stencil and modeling paste before blending different shades of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists.

The leaf turned out lovely! I cut it from a piece of cardboard using a stencil from AB Studio to get the shape. I painted it golden with Tattered Angels High Impact Paints in 3 cotes - if you look closely you can see that I used purple & gold. Layer 1 was gold, 2 purple and 3 gold again.

Dear Crafters - I´m here today with my inspiration piece for the August Challenge "Colors of Life". Color is a big part of my life as it is the essence of my Art! I have always loved colors, painting, drawing and sketching. I can´t pass a beautiful yarn ball in the craft store without buying it and every Friday I buy myself a beautiful boquet of colorful flowers. 

I created a tag with some of my favourite mists from Tattered Angels. I hope you like it and enjoy the process video!

Good Day Crafty Souls!

I´m here today to show you my inspiration piece for the July Challenge "Sea Fantasies".

The Sea is something precious to me. I grew up by the sea & spent all vacations throughout my childhood and youth on a boat with my parents. I still live by the sea - I can watch it´s marvelous scenery from our house, and it never stops to amaze me. I could not live anywhere where there was no sea or water in sight!

I ended up making this Art Journal spread with textures from AB Studio stencils and loads of random stamping and Tattered Angels mists, high impact paints & glimmer glam paints. Stickers from 7 Dots Studio add the final touch.

Hi Crafty Souls!

I´m here today to inspire you with this canvas art piece.

I belive the "Emotional Ourburst" moodboard has perfect colors for a summer project - bold, bright and sparkling. I love all the details & textures in it!

I ended up creating this piece about my friend and her daughter. My friend got married a two summers ago, and I was asked to be the wedding photographer. I caught this moment on camera - a really precious one - between the teenage daughter and her soon to be wed mother. This was before the wedding, and the air was swooning with emotions. The wedding was a secret to everyone (we thought we was about to celebrate my friend turning 40 yo), and the family was excited to been able to fool everyone.

Blue has always been my favourite color so this challenge was a love at first sight moment.

It´s time for me - Marie - to give you inspiration for the March Challenge "Mystic". 

I was inspired by the textures and the colors in the moodboard and created a set of ATCs.

I loved playing with stencils from Aga Baraniak and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists to create the right textures on the cards.

Hello Creative Souls!

Marie here today to share a layout inspired by the February Challenge "Time".

If you have kids you know that time seams to fly by. You don´t get any older while your kids just grow & grow. I love this picture of my daughter Alice from when she was about 5 years old. The loved the Pippi Longstocking blanket and used it all the time at the beach. Now she can merely wrap it around her, and hiding in it is not at all an option. When I look at the picture it seams like this was not that long ago - but as I said - Time flies when you have kids.

2017 has come to it´s end and today I share my project inspired by 

the December-January Moodboard. 

I created a layout with a feeling of cold weather, snow and crispy air. You know how the world looks and the air feels when it is really, really cold outside.

I have used a really beautiful paper from 7 Dots Studio Collection Northern Lights together with sweet flowers & wood decorations.

"Gather Mystery" by Marie Johansson

Hello Creative Souls! 

I´m here today to with my inspiration piece for the November Challenge. 

I created this Art Journal spread with inspiration from the moodboard below:

 I was meaning to make a layout but could not find a suitable photo, but when sorting trough my stuff I found a pack of rub ons from Architextures that that had some lovely wall hangings and some other architectural pieces that was much alike those in the moodboard. I ended up layering them togheter with bases from an Architextures Junk Pack and different shades of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. I must say I love how the spread turned out! What do you think?

"Fantasy" Wall Hanging

When it comes to fantasy there is so much that inspire me - I love the books and has been a keen fantasy novel reader since I was a teenager. I love the clothes, I love the mystery - you can just say I love it... Making this project came down to be a bit of a trouble since I did not know which inspirational thought to pick. 

I ended up making a wall hanging with inspiration from the moodboard for this month. I picked out the colors and shapes and incorporated them in my project. 

The October Challenge

 I used a piece of burlap from Canvas Corp that I wrapped around two sandwiched pieces of cardboard to form the base of my wall hanging. I love that the color goes well with the burning sky in one of the pictures in the moodboard. A piece of dark blue cardstock got layers of Tattered Angels Mists and that transformed it with to a interesting background. 

Canvas "Forest Adventure" by Marie Johansson

Greetings from the North of Sweden!

Marie here today with my project inspired by the August Challenge.

I love spending time in the forest - alone or with my family. We often go to Orienteering contests togheter, but when alone I like to just sit down on a fallen tree and listen to the voice of the forest.

Where I live there is deep, dark & green woods. And there are light and airy woods of birch trees. They all feel and sound different but they all have something in common - loads of green foliage and different textures. And that my friends was my inspiration for this moodboard..

The Challenge:

I tried to capture the different textures like moss, old fallen trees, wet areas, different leaves & foliage by adding different layers of Finnabairs Glass Beads, Glass Glitter and Art Stones. I covered it all with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists before I added a piece from a candle decoration and the cool chipboards from Scrap FX.
