'Cherish' by Lisa Griffith

Hello all mixed media lovers!
It's my very first post of the brand new year, and I hope that for everyone
looking, creativity flows and prospers!

'Cherish'

I loved the stark, cold look of our moodboard this month,
with the shock of black and white and just a hint of purple.
I used some Blue Fern Studios papers, some twigs and branches
that I covered in white paint, a chipboard title from 2 Crafty Chipboard
a few flowers, and a vintage photo of a forlorn young lady.

Here is our inspiration for you:

'Rejoice' by Lisa Griffith

Good evening mixed media lovers!
It's my turn to share my project inspired by our beautiful wintery
moodboard full of frosty blues and warm browns.

'Rejoice'

I started with a serene photo of an angel and created a mixed media
canvas on burlap. I added lots of gesso, watercolors, lace and tiny pine cones.
I wanted to capture a sense of tranquility and peace which
we look for this special time of year.

Here is our inspiration for this month:

'Thankful' by Lisa Griffith

Hello Mixed Media & Art friends!
I hope everyone is enjoying the changing seasons and finds time to join us
in our new challenge. I have created a layout using some beautiful
colors of fall.

'Thankful'

I'm always inspired by nature and the leaves and fall scenes of our moodboard were perfect
for a layout using Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays, a piece of Dusty Attic chipboard,
some leaf dies and also some real leaves from my yard:)

Here is our moodboard:

'I Heard You Singing' by Lisa Griffith

Hello Mixed Media & Art friends!
Lisa here to share my project for September.
I loved the ancient feel of the mood board, and it sent ideas swirling in my head.

'I Heard You Singing'

I love vintage styled art, it melts my heart to work with time worn antique style elements.
I started with some old sheet music and added lots of Lindy's Stamp Gang
mists, stamping, an old baroque style frame and lots of flowers.

Here is the mood board for this month:

'Create art' by Lisa Griffith

Hello mixed media lovers!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and finds time to be inspired
by our new moodboard!

'Create art'

The first thing that popped into my mind with these photos of palettes and brushes are
the super fun art classes I have been enjoying with my son over the summer holidays.
We have several of his paintings displayed around our house, and he really
enjoys being creative which of course makes me very happy:)
I used some 7 Dots Studio papers and some old ripped up jeans to add a boyish feel.
I took the colours orange and blue, and added a few paintbrushes
to tie the theme all together.

'Upon the shore....' by Lisa Griffith

Hello Mixed Media & Art friends!
Lisa here to share my project inspired by the beauty and pure calm of the ocean.

'Upon a shore....'

I was so inspired with this moodboard! (as always)... I chose a photo of my little man soaking up
some sun on one of our beach vacations, and found the perfect little starfish frame to tuck into
my canvas. I covered the whole surface with Prima white crackle paste, then I added
some watercolors and glued down some seashells, resin pieces and flowers.

'Splendid' by Lisa Griffith

Hello crafty friends!
Lisa here to share with you what I have created inspired by the wonderful
April moodboard full of rusty textures and deep rich shades of blue.

'Splendid'

Words can't describe how much I love my son, he lights up my world. I decided to make
this project as a way to capture how my boy is growing into a young man.
I found an old piece of wood in a field behind my house, so I broke it into pieces,
glued it down to some cardboard, and covered it in gesso and deep blue ink.
Then I added some old worn book papers and vintage keyholes.
I created the heart shaped lock with a Finnabair mold and Prima paper clay,
colored it with Lindy's Stamp Gang spray and then rubbed some
Finnabair metallic gold paint over it.

Here is our moodboard and a few close ups:

'Truth keeper' by Lisa Griffith

Hello girls!
Lisa here with a very mixed media messy page I created using
some unusual colors.

'Truth keeper'

I didn't follow the moodboard this month at Mixed Media & Art, although it was beautiful
as always. I wanted to create a bold colorful look so I built up a lot of layers
under my photo using some vintage ephemera, some chipboard
that I embossed in copper, and of course splashed around a lot of the beautiful
sprays... 7 Dots Studio papers from the
'Dreamscapes' collection help me create my wintery scene.

'Peace on Earth' by Lisa Griffith

Hello Mixed Media lovers! Today, on this first day of 2018,
I have the pleasure of wishing all of our followers
and friends the Best, most Happiest New Year ever!

'Peace on Earth'

I loved the deer and the frosty wintery mood of this month's moodboard, and I picked up the minty
greens, soft browns and lots of snowy white to create another nature inspired page.
I added white lace, Prima art stones and flowers, silver beads,
pearls and glitter to make my page sparkle :)
I'm so honoured to be part of this amazing team for another year.
I am always so inspired by the pretty moodboards Olya creates,
and this tender, snowy scene for December is lovely as ever!

'In Night's Still Calm' by Lisa Griffith

Hello dear readers, have you seen our wonderful challenges?
I adore each moodboard and always have lots of ideas flowing through my mind.
This time I created a mixed media piece using vintage sheet music,
natural elements, and lots of watercolors.

'In Night's Still Calm'

I wanted to create a mysterious forest scene using natural elements
according to Stage #3 of our Creative Art
challenge. I took some vintage piano music, covered it in clear gesso, and then glued
on some green fern leaves from my garden. After I covered the leaves in heavy white gesso,
I added watercolors to create a warm fiery glow, some stamping, and some twigs
and chipboard leaves.

Here is our moodboard and also our challenge:

"Remember" by Lisa Griffith

Hello dear readers, Lisa here to share with you my layout created
with this month's gorgeous moodboard.

'Remember'

I was inspired by the feathers and the shells and of course the beautiful colors in
our mood board, and I immediately thought of some beach treasures I
had collected from our recent family vacation to Florida. I wanted to make the
feathers the focal point of my page, and the tiny seashells I found on my early morning
sunrise drenched walks fit the mood perfectly.
I used some 13arts papers from the 'Strength in Numbers' collection,
and lots of watercolors on my background.

Here is the wonderful moodboard:

with the beautiful and ethereal nature themed moodboard for this month.

I used papers, stickers and sayings from the 'Hazy Days' collection by 7 Dots Studio, some
2 Crafty Chipboard pieces, lavender shrubs and swirls, and mediums and inks by 13 arts.
I wanted to recreate the scene in the photograph, so I added lots of leaves, branches and flowers.

Here is the stunning moodboard for this month:

I felt inspired by the mysterious forest scenes and the rich jewel toned greens.

'Nevada City' by Lisa Griffith

Hello Mixed Media & Art friends!
Lisa Griffith here with a grungy page inspired by our wonderful
new moodboard, which requires letters and a handmade background.

'Nevada City'

This layout turned out to be second in my mini series of pages with an Americana feel to them.
I imagined this elegant young lady as a daughter of the English industrial revolution who
immigrated to America looking for a new life.
Following our amazing new moodboard, I created an intricate, messy background
filled with lots of layers of heavy white gesso, letters stencils, and inks.

Here is the new challenge:

Here are a few details:
