April challenge - Deep Inside

Hello friends!
Spring paints everything around, that is very pleasing! April Challenge continues at our Mixed Media & Art blog with a blue-eyed palette, rust and very interesting elements on the moodboard! Amazing combination!

Spring is coming and Summer season will be in our hemisphere soon also . I
decided to decorate our country house with canvases and layouts with family members) Today would like to share with you canvas with my husband and his father.
Vintage summer of 1970s ...
Inspired by a common palette and metal elements.
Rust and blue colors of course...)

Фон сделан с помощью акрила, паст и восков от Finnabair
С помощью металлических, деревянных, гипсовых и прозрачных элементов создала композицию. Фотоплёнка от Хольтца создала динамику, кусочки из старых газет придали винтажность работе, а сухие цветы добавили аромата и жизни)

The background made acrylic, pastes and waxes by Finnabair
Composition created using metal, wood, plaster and transparent elements. The Tim Holtz film added dynamics, pieces of old newspapers made vintage shape,  dry flowers gave aroma and life...)

Deep Inside Challenge - My Mysterious Dragon by Sharon Ziv

Hi Guys!
It's Sharon and I'm so happy to be here today after a short-long break! I had My sweet third baby girl delivery on the end  of January and had to reorganize my life and come back slowly to my new routine!   So here I am with my April inspiration! The inspiration board is absolutely stunning! I saw the blue and the books and wanted to create this Dragon like in the old books.
I have to share with you the truth...I believe its more inspiring than just see the finalized project...I started by going with only blue shades...found myself adding more and more layers but something just didn't work for me. then I remembered that the inspiration board has also rust in it...so I started to get crazy with adding alcoholic inks: brown, orange and yellow...and some patina paint and more and more...well I think I slightly forgot a little about the blue I started with. Don't worry! again I added blue layers with sprays and alcoholic ink...a bit of gesso and...DONE!  So any way...that's how it goes right? you never know where you will be finishing.
Hope you will find it inspiring and come play with us! You are welcome to visit me on my Instagram and YouTube

Best friends by Bea Mucsi

Hello again,
Bea is here, and I show you a layout again.
The composition was inspired by our moodboard. I used the book pages from that in the background.
Honestly I never used that kind of blue color on my creation, but I should in the future. It was a very good fun.

You have still have some days to join our challenge.

Anchor by Martina Stoycheva

Hello mixed media fans!
Today I - Martina will give you a little bit of inspiration.
My project is coming right out from deep inside..
It`s a  anchor.

It is from thick chipboard and I only had to decorate it.
It was a lot of fun creating it, because it is a big piece, almost 80cm.
First I painted the front and the back with white paint. Then the second layer was of white gesso.
For more texture I also added white crackle paste and a fishing net. After that the fun part begin.
Paint mixed with texture powder, mica powder, waxes.
I have to say it was a real pleasure to create this one.
Here are a few close up photos:

'Splendid' by Lisa Griffith

Hello crafty friends!
Lisa here to share with you what I have created inspired by the wonderful
April moodboard full of rusty textures and deep rich shades of blue.

'Splendid'

Words can't describe how much I love my son, he lights up my world. I decided to make
this project as a way to capture how my boy is growing into a young man.
I found an old piece of wood in a field behind my house, so I broke it into pieces,
glued it down to some cardboard, and covered it in gesso and deep blue ink.
Then I added some old worn book papers and vintage keyholes.
I created the heart shaped lock with a Finnabair mold and Prima paper clay,
colored it with Lindy's Stamp Gang spray and then rubbed some
Finnabair metallic gold paint over it.

Here is our moodboard and a few close ups:
