'Lucky is a state of mind' by Magdalena

Hello creative souls!
I'm here today to share with you my take on the November mood board challenge. Beautiful, fall colours of our board inspired me to alter an old book cover, which I will later use as my new art journal.

I was mostly inspired by the colour palette, but also by the poetic and romantic feel of our board.

I started with applying a couple coats of white gesso on the book cover and gluing some pieces of lace in between the gesso layers.

I applied white crackle paste randomly, dried my project and started adding some colour using rust and moss pastes diluted with water.

When I was happy with the background, I covered all of the metal embellishments with black gesso and painted them using waxes.

I heat embossed all of the chipboard pieces and glued down the elements of the composition using gel medium.

For the finishing touches I added some stamping, some clusters of glass glitter and splats of white acrylic ink.

Thank you for looking!
Have a wonderfully creative month!

Hugs!
Magdalena
