October Inspiration by Marie Johansson

Hi Crafty Souls! 

Marie here today sharing my inspiration piece for the October Challenge "Alchemy". I love the dreamy moodboard this month. It got me thinking of the movies "Pirates of the Caribbean" but also a song titel from Iron Maiden. I decided to name my project after that song. 

"The Book of Souls"

I picked up the colors, the map, the stars and the mystic feeling from the moodboard. 

I painted the book with black gesso before I stamped and embossed a map stamp (if you look closely you can see the raised map pattern). 

I added lilac & golden mists from Tattered Angels before decorating and stamping the compass pattern. 

The resin skull was painted with a couple of cotes of Tattered Angels High Impact paints before I added the beads in the eyes.  All metal embellishments had different colors, but by adding High Impact paint in layers with my finger tip they ended up looking pretty much the same.
